A 2 day workshop for PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, SLPs and Recreational Therapists to learn how to assess and treat their pediatric, adult and geriatric neurologically impaired patients most effectively, using the latest research in how to build the brain for improved function.

How We Learn: Integration, Attention and Flexibility in the Brain

Presentations to fit audience needs; principals, teachers, special needs educators, parent groups, service organizations, community interest groups, support groups for various disabilities, etc.

Designed to educate re: how our brains are "set up" to learn (process) information; what interferes with that ability to process and use information; and how we are able to change the brain.

Ridiculously Easy Ways to Make the Brain More
  Efficient

A one day workshop for those involved in working with special needs children and adults. This is a hands on workshop filled with practical ways to build attention in children with special needs so they can learn and succeed.

Building the Young Brain: Brain, Body and Behavior in the Pre-School Child

A half-day presentation on attachment, relationship and the brain building tools of connection, emotion and exercise. An introduction to how the brain is designed to learn, why it doesn’t and how to change that.

 The Male Brain

The science is in. Boys really do learn differently than girls. A presentation on the male brain, the hormones that drive the brain body behavior from birth through the adult years. A picture of brain driven behavior that makes sense out of what teachers experience in the classroom and parents experience at home. With better understanding, we gain the vision to select methods to best help boys to learn and mature while honoring their differences.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder & Traumatic Brain Injury (PTSD/TBI)

This information can be provided in short presentations for those interested in learning more about these two signature injuries coming out of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This presentation provides insight as to what happens in the brain with these injuries and how that drives behavior.

This is a half day/full day workshop presented to those who work with or live with someone with PTSD or TBI, or both, as is often the case. PTSD impacts not only the warrior but eventually the family, the workforce and the community in which they live and work.

This workshop is for therapists of all professions who will be seeing these warriors now and in the future. The neuroscience on the brain-body dis-integration process and the negative neuroplasticity created after the trauma, drives assessment and treatment.

  1. Building the Brain: How to Maximize Function using Neuroplasticity and Neurogenesis

1 and 2 day research based workshops to learn how the brain is designed to process information, why it can't and what tools to utilize to restore or build those pathways in the brain that support learning and function. The workshop can be organized for school based therapists who work with a pediatric population as well as hospital and clinic based therapists who serve a variety of ages and diagnoses.
